Bavaria builds its yachts in Germany, and the R55 arrived as the flagship of its R range of motor yachts. The design is modern and restrained: a white hull with long, dark glazing set into its flanks, a sleek superstructure and a flybridge that sits low in the profile rather than towering over it. Her 17.4 metre length and 4.59 metre beam give generous volume for her size. Below the waterline the hull is a deep V forward that flattens towards the stern, a shape meant to make the most of her performance and efficiency.

Large windows run through the saloon and the cabins, so the interior stays bright through the day. On the main deck the cockpit sits sheltered beneath the flybridge overhang, with a sofa and a table, and a wide glass door joins it to the saloon so inside and outside work as one space. Up on the flybridge there is a helm with seats for pilot and co-pilot, a dinette, a wet bar and room to lie in the sun, with a bimini for shade. Forward, the bow has a sunbed and seating of its own. Easy decks and a simple, practical layout make her a natural choice for families and mixed groups who want a comfortable base for the day rather than a performance boat.
